DocDigest Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

DocDigest is a document-summarizing app built to respect your privacy. The documents you import and the summaries the app produces are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.

The short version

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the DocDigest mobile app ("DocDigest", "the app", "we", "us", or "our"), published by Sqora Pro, handles information. It applies to the DocDigest apps for iOS and Android.

2. Your documents and summaries stay on your device

All of DocDigest's core features — reading and extracting text from your documents, and generating summaries — run locally on your device. Summaries are produced either by the app's built-in engine, by a language model you download inside the app, or, on newer devices, by the operating system's built-in on-device AI (Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models on iOS, Gemini Nano on Android). In every case:

3. Information we collect

DocDigest does not require an account and does not ask for personal information such as your name, email, or contacts. It contains no advertising or tracking SDKs and does not build a profile of you. Two limited kinds of data may leave your device — anonymous crash and diagnostic reports, and (only if you buy DocDigest Pro) purchase data. Neither includes your documents, your summaries, or any text you imported.

Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics). To find and fix bugs and keep the app reliable, DocDigest uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google. When the app crashes — or when an internal operation fails or has to fall back to a simpler summarization engine — the app records a diagnostic report. These reports contain technical information such as the error or stack trace, the reason a summarization fell back (for example, a model timing out or not being installed), the name of the AI engine involved, and technical details about your device (such as its model, operating-system version, the app version, and device state at the time). They are tied only to a random, app-generated identifier and are not linked to your name, email, or account. They contain no document content, no summaries, no file names, and none of the text you imported — a report can show that a summarization failed, but never what your document was about. This information is processed by Google as described in Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy. These reports are collected even when Offline-only mode is turned on — that setting blocks automatic model downloads, not diagnostics — and if your device has no connection, a report is stored on the device and sent the next time you are online.

Purchase data (DocDigest Pro). If you buy a DocDigest Pro subscription or the one-time lifetime unlock, the payment itself is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details. To activate Pro in the app, the store's purchase receipt is validated by RevenueCat, our purchase-management provider. This involves the store transaction data (such as the product purchased and purchase/renewal dates) and a random, app-generated identifier. It is used solely to unlock and restore your purchase, is not linked to your name or email, and involves no document content. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. If you only use the free tier, no purchase data is created and nothing leaves your device beyond the model downloads described below.

4. How the app uses the internet

DocDigest connects to the internet for a few limited purposes: to download the AI models it offers (for example, GGUF language models hosted on Hugging Face), to validate Pro purchases as described above, and to send the anonymous crash and diagnostic reports described in Section 3. Model downloads are one-way — no documents, summaries, or personal data is sent in these requests. The app does not send your documents or summaries to any third-party AI service, or to us. Aside from the anonymous diagnostics and purchase validation described above, the app does not transmit your content anywhere.

5. Storage, retention, and deletion

Because your content lives on your device, you are in control of it:

6. No advertising, tracking, or data sales

DocDigest does not display ads, does not include advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not use your data to build a profile of you. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The crash and diagnostic reporting described in Section 3 is used only to fix bugs and keep the app reliable — never for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across apps or services.

7. Children's privacy

DocDigest is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Because DocDigest keeps your documents and summaries on your device, the most direct way to exercise these rights over that content is to manage or delete it in the app and to uninstall it. The crash and diagnostic data described in Section 3 is anonymous and not linked to your identity, so we generally cannot connect it to a particular person or single it out on request. If you have questions or requests about your data, contact us using the details below and we will help where we can.

9. Data security

Your documents and summaries are kept in the app's private, sandboxed storage on your device. Purchase-validation and diagnostic requests are transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated within the app or on the app's store listing.
